Composer's Note

Written for The Rhythm Method and the Lake George Music Festival, Quartet on the Mindless explores patterns of speech and behavior when conversing with a group of people. While at times cloudy or resistant, the conversation at play is subtly contrasted between speech and thought (the active and rebellious thoughts that scatter the mind in a deep conversation that can overpower the speech of others).
